People-Centred Care
WESTMINSTER MOBILE MEDICAL IMAGING INC. (WMMII)
At Westminster Mobile Medical Imaging Inc. (WMMII), we provide mobile X-ray and ultrasound examinations at healthcare facilities, including long-term care and retirement homes, correctional facilities and other client locations. We do not operate a fixed, patient-facing imaging clinic. Our goal is to deliver safe, respectful and individualized care that considers each patient’s comfort, dignity, preferences and needs.
Respect, dignity and choice
- We treat patients and residents with compassion, courtesy and respect, without discrimination or stigma.
- Patients can ask questions, raise concerns, or refuse or request that an examination stop, subject to applicable consent and capacity requirements.
- Where appropriate, authorized substitute decision-makers are involved in care decisions.
Clear communication and consent
- We explain relevant examination information in clear language suited to the patient’s needs and understanding.
- We respect consent requirements and work with caregivers and facility staff when appropriate, without compromising patient rights.
- Patients are informed in advance when an examination or service is not covered by OHIP, where applicable.
Comfort, accessibility and individual needs
- We consider mobility limitations, frailty, pain, anxiety, cognitive or sensory impairments, communication needs and cultural preferences.
- Our imaging team works with facility staff or caregivers, where appropriate, to support safe positioning, communication and reasonable accommodations.
- An examination may be adjusted, delayed or stopped if it cannot be performed safely.
Privacy and safety
- We protect patient privacy and confidentiality during identification, preparation, imaging and communication of health information.
- Our team follows appropriate infection-prevention, equipment, positioning and radiation-safety practices at each service location.
- Patients and authorized representatives may request access to or correction of health records in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
Working together
Patients, families, substitute decision-makers and facility staff are encouraged to share relevant health information, communicate concerns and follow reasonable safety instructions. We value respectful cooperation while preserving each patient’s consent, privacy and accessibility rights.
Feedback and concerns
We welcome comments, compliments and concerns from patients, families, caregivers, referring practitioners and healthcare facilities. Feedback can be shared through our website or directly with WMMII management. Concerns are reviewed through our established complaint and quality-improvement processes, without affecting access to or quality of care.
Our commitment
Safe care. Respectful communication. Compassion for every patient.
